memorial day park day good day

Today it's memorial day in the States and unlike easter everything's closed and people are loosing their mind from having such a good time. my neighbourhood is just a big, happy, colorful party. Stella got me out of my moody mood and we went to the beautiful Fort Green park where we giggled and were girly for hours it seems..i also tried to design a special ring for my spring 09 collection..

I love Hamburg. I was there only once like 8 years ago- all alone for a dance audition! I remember watching boats go by on the river with beautiful trees hanging low, while i ate a big ice cream in a cafe on a bridge after the not so successful audition.

Sonntagszeitung "Design your Life"

last sunday the sonntagszeitung article about my living situation in NY came out. Thanks so much Diana for the scan! and thanks again so much to Claudia Schmid for the fun text and Zsigmond Toth for the photos
all the different objects in the big picture belong to a story and a person- like the star "curtain" my mum made for me when i was a kid because i always wanted my room very dark when sleeping and I still do.
I love that the article is titled "My NY summer smells like meat" it is true because my neighbours are huge barbeque champs but I don't even eat meat..

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

This is my amazing mum Kaya with the necklace I gave her last mother's day. I can never say thank you enough to my mum! she is my inspiration and I am happy we are collaborating on Family Affairs
my mum always encouraged our creativity, as she says she created creative monsters. all we ever wanted to do is cut and glue and paint for days. my favorite was when she would draw stuff for us. it was always so PERFECT. Once she created this hotel all on paper. and that was our favorite play thing.


This was in Jaipur, pretty much the only luxurious moment we had! after weeks of working nonstop we went to Rambagh Palace, this 6!!star hotel and former maharaja residence for tea and sandwiches! it cost like 20 times as much as a normal indian meal but it was worth it. my mum was exstatic to find a Vogue! I did not even try to wrestle it away from here, so I just stared into space.
