Le Mepris

I love my Le Mepris tunic! It's was still so warm in NY last weekend that I got to wear it as a dress!

Paris!

I am so backtracked on posts! Packing and travelling always slows me down.. On the day of my flight I was still running around in the rain (romantic!) dropping off Le Mepris, Darling and Siren Song dresses at Court and Albertine! I also had the best muffin of my life from Bird Bath bakery.

The last two hours before leaving were as always mayhem style with tiny heart attacks. In the end it all worked out and I had a great flight to Switzerland.
Now I just abonded my piles of paperwork for taxes to finally pack for Paris! I have been dreaming about what to pack and now it's supposed to be raining? So I have to reroute my packing a little bit but with the Sleepless and the Overboard coat I will be fine. I am so looking forward to Paaaaris! Oh I forgot to say why I am going; showing ss11 Toujours Toi and Family Affairs at the Capsule trade show!

DARLING dress

I haven't been able to upload the new fabric choice of the Darling dress online yet, so I put it on and took some photos this morning. As the rose print that we sampled was unavailable for production I had to find a new print; Instead of trying to find something very close to the print (which was impossible) I ended up choosing a completely different print that I fell in love with. This is what the Darling dress looks like in the flower print

MOON RIVER

Fall/Winter 2010

“Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker, wherever you're going I'm going your way. Two drifters, off to see the world, there’s such a lot of world to see…” – Moon River

The fall winter 10 collection is darkly romantic and a little mystical with a muted colour palette ; inspired by the snow-covered valleys and rich velvet details seen in Roman Polanski’s 1967 film “Fearless Vampire Killers”.

The heroine of Moon River is holed up in a mountain house made of wood - simple and honest, in a pristinely beautiful setting with snow and mountains all around. Sitting at the kitchen table with a fire going, tea and cake and a fat cat by her side, reflecting on the ocean voyages she’s taken and enjoying the peace and beauty of being in nature.

Her wardrobe reflects each place and moment: the sea represented by the Overboard coat, Siren Song dress, then the Homeward dress and the mountains, the Willow shirt, Juniper jacket and Snow and Honey dress. Fluid fabrics: chiffon, crepe, gabardine and jersey are mixed with solid pieces in wool, twill and velvet. The Gypsy Secret skirt and Darling dress in floral print chiffon on a black background stand out as the dreamiest looks, completing the collection.

So happy to present to you: Moon River fw10! It's all in the webshop now. We produce each style in small quantities in a small studio in NYC.

These are some of the out takes of the Moon River shoot, we shot on location at the small wood chalet my granddad built with his family and friends in the early 50ies. It's a beautiful,simple and pure place where we often vacationed as children and where we celebrate christmas when we can.

Wow it's already been a week since the show, how did this happen?
Putting this show together I was just amazed everyday by the fun we had and by all the amazing people who made it happen.

Yvette who helped with countless things like fetching shoes in Queens! Liz; for so many details and glueing, cutting and steaming! Anja who came on board at last minute to help out with hair and was so positive and calm!
Tina in the Baby I'm A Star dress who actually came to help us out straight from the airport with no sleep yet so much energy!

I have so many posts to write, it's all backed up because there are/were so many lovely things happening lately.
This was on September 8th. at the Anda&Masha hat launch! Such great hats and lovely girls!
Madhatter by Anda&Masha and Dream Day skirt with Moonlight blouse from the Family Affairs fw10 collection which IS coming out tomorrow at some point! So excited!

The Make-Up

Kristin Gallegos who also did the make-up for the "Moon River" show, developed the make-up for the "Ocean Lemonade" show. She did an amazing job with her team. SO happy with it, and SO fun working with Kristin! Thank youu!
