turning pages and missing my granddad

I don't usually write such personal things but I have been missing and thinking of my granddad more than ever lately and today would have been his 101 birthday!
He was and is a true angel and hero of my life. Strong, kind, funny, loving, true. He used to get up in the wee hours to prepare us traditional Birchermüesli. He knew a lot about health food yet had a great love for sweets and was an amazing baker. Even though his background did not allow him to go to university and he's had to work since childhood, he was a scholar at heart. I got my love for books and learning from my granddad. What I remember most about my grandpa is his contentment with the small things, his contentment with his life. I would ask him to read to me when I wanted to sleep. His dear voice was so monotone and calming it was sometimes the only thing that could make me fall asleep.

He worked at the post office and as a book binder. He loved the precision and meditative aspect of this beautiful craft.

Bin im Hüsli und lese Grandpas Bücher "Lebenserfolg". He did not have to go to university, he was a autadictate. Grüsse Onkelbrüetsch
