The Loner meets Dance For Me

This is my typical India outfit, a breezy wood print voile shirt and the Dance For Me pants in both colors every day. It's too hot for anything else..
And let me introduce to you "The Loner" Circe earrings, my inspiration was octopus tentacles. octopus are loners, they like to travel alone. so thus the name. I got them crafted here in Jaipur the capital of magic and gems. I am so in awe of the craftmen! setting each stone by hand

This version is oxidized silver with blue topaz and pearl.The first shippment is going to Japan, I will let you know when and where they will be available.

The trip from Delhi-Jaipur took 6 hours.All I did was look out the window, see Indian life pass by and listen to my i-shuffle. I am a big reader but the landscape was more interesting than my books..

wake me up before you go go

Yesterday at 7am (seems so long ago already!) we met my dear friend Nina at the Delhi bus station, it was the only possible time we could meet, Nina arrived in Delhi from Jaipur early in the morning and we had to get on the bus TO Jaipur at 8am. Nina just finished a half year of artist residency in Jaipur! I am so glad we got to have a chai before my mum and me got on the bus to Jaipur..

magical mistery tour

on the ride..day 4 in India. I have been twittering more than blogging so far.
Very concentrated at work! I just finalized spring/summer10 for Toujours Toi as well, out in the 104 degree heat. I wish it was all done already so I could share it with you!
The inspiration for Family Affairs spring/summer10 started when we were in India in December and I watched lot's of "Nouvelle Vague" on youtube; like Pierrot Le Fou

It's developing into something really fun and unexpected!
Grace Jones has been an inspiration all along as well...

Heat in Rimini

My dear friends Marion and Tina, were at Rimini Mercatino yesterday selling Family Affairs
and Toujours Toi while I was sleepless in Delhi. How cute are they in their sailor style outfits?!

my brain feels kind of empty. maybe from concentrating so much during fabric choosing?
hope my fabric selection is not too crazy. It's pretty crazy. I wish I could show you already!
weird scene at fabric shops: other euro fabric searchers closing in on my selection like prey. ha, I even hid a printed silk roll from their eyes.

jasmine, travels, late nights

My mum and me are in Delhi now, making a new collection for Family Affairs. I haven't taken any pictures yet except in the hotel room. India is so big and so intense, I always have to settle in before I feel "normal", so much to take in, so much color, smells..jetlag.
We already got productive on the first day. No time to loose..just 2 weeks and lot's to do! I am so grateful we found such an oasis of a hotel. We'll have dinner on the roof under pink, silk drapes. The birds have lot's to say, sounds like a jungle out there...
I can't really go anywhere without my Circe rings. Last night when we arrived at our room at 2am. I found this bowl with Jasmine where they fit so nicely.

Tina goes Rimini

Today was a handover day! Met our seamstress to be handed over our prototypes for ss10 and then met up with Tina to hand over our FA suitcase-Tina is gonna sell Family Affairs and Toujours Toi at the Rimini Mercatino on Monday from 6pm-12am in Zurich. Again the line up of stores and Designers is great! stop by if you can, I am sorry I can't be there!

Tina is wearing her "MY Bonnie Is Over The Ocean" t-shirt (They will be for sale at Rimini for 49.-!) and her "Sailor's Moon" necklace in silver with coral.

Toujours Toi Collection shoot

Yesterday was another huge day! We shot all 11 collections for Toujours Toi at the legendary Villa Pathumba in Zurich. Team Awesome!
As always this came together last minute. I scoured my own and the family closet to create the outfits. I also got some amazing clothes and shoes from Lux and accessories from Marion! Thanks!!
The weather was so beautiful, I am not used to hot, sunny days, I was like a fried egg at the end of the day.

Dreamboats

When I went to Lux (best & fave vintage shop in Zurich) on Tuesday to pick up some amazing pieces for our TT shoot, Beat who owns Lux had theses shoes ready for me, he knew that we were a perfect match. They are like a picnic basket on the side!

Mercatino Rimini

Last night was so much fun at the Mercatino Rimini where we were selling La Vie Etrange.I Got to to catch up with many wonderful people which made me so happy! Nadja came to help me in the first part of the evening, and for the second part Tina came and Philipp and Tanya drove me home. aww friends! thank you!! and thanks everyone for stopping by!

summer inspirations from the flea market

Every saturday when I can and when I am in Zurich, I do a little round at the flea market for inspiration and treasures. This amazing gramaphone box I didn't end up buying for practicality reasons, but I think I have to go back and get it. It's a dream! Someone actually used to travel with their gramaphone to all these beautiful hotels. Oh the stories!Beauty over practicality.
